Community Service 11th July - Yoga Sessions at Asha Sadan On 11th July, the yoga session began with a few standing warm-up exercises to prepare and energize the body. We then practiced four rounds of Surya Namaskar, incorporating exciting variations such as plank, elbow plank, and pigeon pose to build strength, balance and flexibility. Afterwards, the students transitioned into seated postures. Through an engaging storytelling approach, they were guided into Butterfly Pose, followed by Chakki Asana, Paschimottanasana, and a few arm-strengthening exercises. The session concluded with Padmasana and calming pranayama practices, including Anulom Vilom and Kapalbhati, leaving the students relaxed, focused, and refreshed. Club Service 11th July – First Fireside Meeting Our Club's first Fireside on Saturday, 11th July at Sky Forest Tower A3, Lower Parel, was an evening filled with warmth, laughter, and meaningful conversations. A big thank you to Nita & Rtn Sanjeev Jain for opening their beautiful home and spoiling us with their exceptional hospitality and absolutely delicious food. Our speaker, PP Rupen Doshi, gave our new members a wonderful introduction to Rotary and explained the true spirit and purpose of a Fireside meeting. The evening became even more special as our returning members shared what brought them back to the club, while our new members spoke about what inspired them to join Rotary and the hopes they have for their Rotary journey. The Satellite members had a meaningful interaction with our members. The candid conversations between old and new members, sprinkled with laughter and shared experiences, made for a memorable evening of bonding and fellowship. Community Service 5th July - Project Red for Life On 5th July, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the Rotaract Club of Medicrew successfully organized Project Red for Life, a Blood Donation Camp at Sai Sanskar Society, Govandi East. The initiative was supported by the Rotaract Club of Bombay Pier and the Rotaract Club of SIES College, Sion West, whose members actively contributed by bringing in blood donors and supporting the event. The blood donation drive was conducted in collaboration with Lilavati Hospital Blood Bank. In addition, Relife Diagnostics partnered with the project to provide basic blood testing, including Hemoglobin, Blood Glucose, and Complete Blood Count (CBC) tests for participants. The camp was a great success, with 45 units of blood collected which will help to save 135 lives. Club Service 2July-Installation Ceremony President Amit Gupta On 2 July 2026, Rtn Amit Sajjankumar Gupta was installed as the President of the Rotary Club of Bombay Pier for Rotary Year 2026–27, along with his Board of Directors, at Royal Halls, NSCI. The ceremony was attended by District Governor Rtn Rajan Dua and several Rotary dignitaries, members, and guests. Outgoing President Rtn Noopur Desai highlighted the Club's outstanding achievements in 2025–26, including 35 CSR India Grant projects, a contribution of US$3.67 million to The Rotary Foundation, and the Inspire Super Achievers Award. In his inaugural address, President Amit shared his vision focused on service, sustainability, and legacy, which includes MMUs (Wada & Mumbai), Pediatric Heart Surgeries, PICU/NICU Support, Wada & Dharavi Schools, 80-bed Old Age Home at Karjat, adoption of 2 gardens, “Thuko Mat Mumbai” Campaign, Modernization of Police Stations, Rotary Blood Bank and Blood Collection Vans and National Integration Project at Machhal.
